Georgetown Co. Sheriff's Office continue to search for two men following shooting

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators are continuing to search for two men following a shooting in Georgetown County.

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is searching for 30-year-old Herbert Antonio Deas who is described as a black male, 6'8", 210 pounds, with short, black hair and brown eyes. Deas was last seen at a home on Siau Lane.

Authorities are also looking for 25-year-old Alphonso Alston III who is described as a black male, 6'2", 185 pounds, with short, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and flip flops.

The search for the men stems from an incident on Oct. 11 at 11:30 p.m. when deputies responded to the Georgetown Memorial Hospital for a woman with a gunshot wound.

Deputies said the victim's ex-boyfriend, Alston, went to the victim's home on Siau Lane in the Sampit community and realized that a male acquaintance of the victim, Deas, was there.

"An altercation occurred between Alston and the victim," sheriff's officials said."During the altercation, Deas fired one shot intending to cause harm to Alston, but struck the victim in the back instead."

On Monday, family members reported Alston missing.

Anyone who has any information on the whereabouts of Alphonso Alston and Herbert Antonio Deas are urged to call the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office (843) 546-5101.
