Charleston investigators arrest second suspect in downtown murder

Charleston investigators have arrested a second suspect in connection to a downtown murder.

The Charleston Police Department arrested 34-year-old Montrelle Campbell of North Charleston who was wanted for murder and two attempted murder charges for a shooting on Sept. 19 at a Norman Street apartment.

The shooting took the life of 32-year-old Antwan Frost. 

Authorities say Campbell was taken into custody Monday morning at an Ashley River Road apartment by the U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Charleston Police Department. 

He was locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center. 

On Sept. 19, officers responded to Norman Street around 6:35 a.m. in reference to a shooting.

"They found three shooting victims, a male and two females," CPD officials said."The man was transported to MUSC where he later died from a single gunshot wound. The female victims were also transported to MUSC with non-life threatening injuries."

On Oct. 9, CPD investigators arrested Trivell Donte Lamar Richardson of North Charleston in connection to the incident. Richardson was also charged with murder.
