CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The federal jury selection for the trial of Dylann Roof will not happen Tuesday as first planned.
Lawyers for the man accused of killing nine parishioners at Emanuel AME Church in downtown Charleston asked for a delay to prepare their case last month, and now the jury in the federal case will be picked in January of next year.
Roof is charged with nine counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder for the shootings. He also faces federal hate crime charges.
Roof''s trial on the state charges has been scheduled for July of next year.
