SLED and Goose Creek police investigating house fire on Amberside Drive

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) -

Goose Creek Police and SLED are working together to investigate a house fire that happened on 113 Amberside Drive. 

According to SLED Agent Thom Berry, officials were called in just before noon. 

An official with the Goose Creek Police Department tells us the fire started around 10:30 a.m. 

The Berkeley County Coroner says that 63 year old Betty Brandhorst was found near the back door of the home. 

Officials say she was taken by EMS to Trident Hospital and pronounced dead around 11:20 a.m. 

Her death has been ruled accidental and the cause of death is smoke inhalation. 

Police are still not sure what caused the fire.
