CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Chili and oysters will warm you up at the 16th Annual Chili Cook-off & Oyster Roast in Charleston.
The Charleston Animal Society's annual fundraiser is Saturday, November 21 at Johnson Hagood Stadium. About one hundred chili teams will be compete in the cook-off to win the Best in Show trophy. Teams will also compete for awards such as the Most Unique Chili, Most Traditional Chili and Best Presentation.
Thousands of animal lovers will come out to enjoy chili samples, oysters and raise money to support thousands of neglected, injured and abused animals in the Lowcountry. Last year's Chili Cook-off and Oyster Roast raised $250,000 for the Charleston Animal Society's medical fund.
In addition to chili and oysters, the event will include beer and wine, live music, a family-friendly Kids Zone, an Adoption Area, plus games like Cornhole and Redneck Horseshoes.
