ST. GEORGE, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators say two people wanted for a Lowcountry armed robbery and a murder in Georgia may be in Tennessee.

According to the Covington Police Department, an employee at a business in Chattanooga found a credit card from a stolen purse in connection to a robbery and killing in Georgia.

That card belonged to 65-year-old Marsha Johnson who was run over several times at a Walmart in Georgia on Monday by a man who had stolen her purse.

In the suspect's car was a woman investigators say was responsible for robbing a 75-year-old woman outside a St. George Family Dollar Store earlier this month.

In both instances, one of the suspects approached the victim, grabbed the victim's purse and drove off in a silver car.

Authorities are asking for the public's help to catch the suspects.

"We need their help. We can't do this on our own, we need people to notice what's around them," said Covington PD Detective Jerry Roberts."This vehicle, it's a silver, late 90-98 to 2002 Honda Accord. It has noticeable damage and once you see that damage, I believe you can remember it for a long time to come."

CPD officials describe the male suspect as a white or Hispanic male, 5'10", 250 to 300 pounds with a black goatee, and wearing jeans, a dark hoodie and white tennis shoes.

The suspects' car is described as a late 90s to early 2000 model Honda Accord 4-door, silver/grey in color with plastic/stock wheel covers and a light colored tint.

Authorities say there is extensive damage to the vehicle's driver side with possible blue paint transfer.

The first incident happened on Nov. 10 at a St. George Family Dollar Store where the victim was walking toward the store when the female suspect approached, put what looked like a silver handgun to the victim's head and grabbed her purse. As she struggled with the suspected robber, the victim heard a click against her head, sounding like the suspect pulled the trigger.

The gun did not fire, a news release states. Video showed the victim continuing to struggle with the suspect.

The strap on the victim's purse broke as she fell to the ground and the suspect fled with the victim's purse.

On Nov. 16, a woman was walking to her car at a Walmart on Industrial Boulevard in Covington, Ga. when she was approached by a male suspect who snatched her purse.

"This resulted into a struggle causing the female to fall to the ground," CPD officials say. "The male then got into his vehicle which was parked next to the victim's vehicle and attempted to leave."

Investigators say before the suspect left, he ran over the victim "multiple times causing traumatic injuries to her."

The victim was transported to the hospital and died a short while later.

The victim was identified as 65-year-old Marsha Johnson, according to a report by WGCL.
