CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a 44-year-old man was shot in the foot after a witness say he continued to argue with a man at a Charleston County home
On Sunday morning, deputies responded to a home on West Montague Avenue and saw the victim with a bandage on his foot stepping out of a mobile home.
An incident report states the victim had an apparent gunshot wound to his left foot, but was not forthcoming with information on what had happened; deputies reported it was unclear if this was intentional on his part or if he was in medical shock from the wound.
Authorities found blood in the front room and the kitchen of the home.
A witness said five minutes before the shooting he heard someone at the front door.
The witness reported that the victim was trying to come into the home with another man, later identified as the suspect. According to the victim, both men were arguing loudly, but the victim was unable to hear what they were arguing about.
The victim said after he asked both men to settle down, the suspect told the victim to leave him alone; an incident report states the victim appeared to be intentionally aggravating the suspect.
CCSO authorities say the suspect warned the victim that the argument "won't end well" if the victim didn't stop pestering him.
The witness said he then heard a single gunshot from the front room where the men had been arguing.
The witness reported seeing the suspect with a black revolver in his right hand.
According to the witness, the suspect told the victim,"See, I could have shot you more."
The incident report states the victim then exclaimed that the suspect had shot him.
Authorities say the suspect then fled the scene.
Investigators describe the suspect as a black male, 27 years old, 5'10" to 6-feet, medium complexion, wearing a green T-shirt, black basketball shorts, and black flip-flop sandals.
The victim was transported to MUSC.
