COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators in Colleton County believe one man may be responsible for a couple of robberies in Walterboro.

The Colleton County Sheriff's Office says the latest incident happened on Monday at The Loop gas station on 2227 N. Jefferies Blvd.

The suspect entered the store, approached the clerk, pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect then left the store on foot.

CCSO officials describe the suspect as a black male, 5'10", and in his twenties.

Authorities say they believe this suspect is also responsible for a robbery Sunday night at the Circle C Express on 11089 Augusta Highway. The clerk said the suspect came up to the register with a bottle of soda and asked for two packs of Newport cigarettes.

The victim reported that when she turned around to get the cigarettes, the suspect jumped the counter, grabbed her by the arm, slapper her across the face and demanded her to open the cash register.

Authorities say after the suspect got money, he ran out of the business toward I-95. Investigators describe the suspect as a skinny black male, 5'10", in his twenties and was last seen wearing dark pants and a white shirt.

CCSO officials say the suspect fled from the scene in a gold or silver Nissan sedan.
