GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Stratford High School went on a "brief administrative lockdown" Tuesday while school officials investigated rumors of a student possibly being in possession of a weapon.
The school went on administrative lockdown during first period, according to Berkeley County School District spokesperson Katie Orvin.
Officials determined there were no weapons on campus, she said.
"Students are safe and the disruption to instruction was very brief," Orvin said in a release. "The district and authorities take such rumors very seriously as the safety of our students and staff remains our number one priority."
Orvin said the district will continue to work with its law enforcement partners and maintain security measures.
