PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Georgetown Sheriff's deputies say a body has been recovered from a creek on Pawleys Island.

Deputies along with the Midway Fire Rescue and the Pawleys Island Police Department responded at approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of Springs Avenue to investigate a report of a body floating in the creek.

An autopsy has been scheduled for 4:45 p.m. at Grand Strand Hospital, according to Georgetown County Sheriff's spokesperson Carrie Cuthbertson.

The identity of the body has not been released.
