BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County deputies have arrested two teenagers and a juvenile in connection to a string of burglaries in College Park.
Deputies charged 17-year-old Joshua Jamone Rogers of Ladson with 10 counts of first-degree burglary and two weapon offenses. Wesley Malcolm Callum, 19, of Ladson was also charged with five counts of first-degree burglary and two weapon offenses. A juvenile was also charged with 10 counts of burglary.
Sheriff Duane Lewis said the arrests are related to a number of burglaries dating back to August of this year.
"Most of the burglaries took place at night and were all in close proximity to where the suspects reside," BCSO officials said.
Detectives recovered two firearms, a stolen X-Box, a stolen laptop computer and jewelry.
"Berkeley County Sheriff Deputies and Detectives worked closely with members of the College Park Community to solve these burglaries," authorities said.
Announcing the arrests, Sheriff Lewis expressed his appreciation for the public's help in the investigation. "We are very pleased that the members of the College Park community were willing to come forward with information that helped solve these burglaries," said Lewis. "Strong relationships between the community and the Sheriff's Office are extremely important to help keep Berkeley County a safe place to live, work and raise a family."
Sheriff Lewis also encourages anyone with further information about burglaries in the College Park area to contact Detective Michele Ward at 843-719-4344 or Detective Rikki Corte at 843-719-4574.
