CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office will be holding a vigil next week honoring the memories of homicide victims.
The candle light vigil will be on Friday, Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church on 626 Savannah Highway.
CCSO officials say hundreds of homicide victims including parents, spouses, children, siblings, friends, co-workers and congregants will gather to honor the lives of their loved ones who were taken from them too soon.
"The Holiday Season can be very hard for homicide survivors," CCSO officials said."It is our sincere hope that the Vigil will help them gain strength and support from each other during this difficult time."
"Our theme for this year is 'Songs of Strength. There will be uplifting songs, poems, readings, etc., by survivors and other invited guests. Law enforcement, elected officials, appointed officials, victim helping organizations, and the public are invited. Light refreshments will be served immediately after the vigil."
