NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

A teenager who lost his tongue as police say he attempted to sexually assault a teacher will go on trial.

On Wednesday, 17-year-old Antoine Miller was expected to face a preliminary hearing, but his lawyer waived the hearing and requested bond to be reconsidered.

During the hearing, the victim told the judge that she begged for her life and thought she was going to die.

"I used to feel safe and comfortable in my home and I certainly don't feel that way now," Paige Duvall said."Actually I haven't returned to my home because the anxiety is so great."

Detectives told the judge Miller confessed to the assault, as well as another assault in September.

According to investigators, Miller also confessed to assaulting more women and following other women with the intent to rape them.

A judge ultimately set Miller's bond at $1 million.

Miller was originally arrested for attempting to sexually assault Duvall, and was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and first-degree kidnapping.

Police believe Miller forced his way into the Duvall's home and assaulted her in mid-October

The victim told investigators when the teen put his tongue into her mouth, she "bit his tongue as hard as she could until she heard it snap."

NCPD officials say the suspect was later found at a Waffle House on Northwoods Boulevard after his mother called 911 due to her son "not having a tongue and needing medical assistance."

He was transported to Trident Hospital.

Duvall spoke with Live 5 News days after the incident and said,"I want to always be able to talk about it. I think it would be reckless to just get over it, to not learn from it. Not that I think I did anything wrong. I know I didn't do anything wrong."

Miller is also a suspect in another attack that happened in September.

He is facing a charge of first degree assault with intent of criminal sexual conduct for that incident.

Miller will be tried as an adult.
