WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office say they are investigating after a mother stabbed her son who she says was attacking her.
On Tuesday night, deputies responded to a domestic incident at a home on Champagne Lane in Andrews.
According to deputies, the incident started when the victim was at home with her son who started a verbal dispute.
The victim said her son started destroying belongings inside the home and became irate.
The victim told deputies her son took her cell phone as she was calling 911. A report states the victim went outside along with her 4-week-old grandchild to get away from her son.
The victim said her son struck her in the face repeatedly with her grandchild in her arms.
The mother told deputies she then stabbed her son with scissors in order for him to stop attacking her.
The son was transported to an area hospital.
The sheriff's office is continuing the investigation.
