CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A room full of children at MUSC Children's Hospital were in for some holiday cheer.

Carnival Cruise Line brought their holiday show to the children featuring the Grinch and other Dr. Seuss characters.

Kennedy Thomas was ready for a 'Merry Grinchmas Show.' She says her favorite character from the Grinch is Cindy Lou Who.

"My sister said that she was going to do my hair like that for Christmas," says Thomas.

Thomas is at MUSC Children's hospital with her 3-month-old brother who's having surgery. For today, Carnival Cruise Line was all about bringing the holiday cheer.

"When kids are in the hospital they still need to be kids and they still need to celebrate the holidays," says Child Life Manager at MUSC, Betsy McMillian.

McMillian says she's thankful for the partnership with the cruise. Carnival donated $10,000 to the hospital. The money will go towards the brand new Children's Hospital expected to open in 2019.

"So we can make that dream into a reality," says McMillian.

Jennifer De La Cruz is the Spokesperson for the Carnival.

"I can tell you that coming over here today for the cruise from the Carnival Fantasy to perform for the kids is as exciting for them as it will be for the children," says De La Cruz.

The Cast members sang Christmas songs and the children listened to the story of "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas." At the end they all received goody bags.

"The singing and dancing, watching the children's faces, no one moved, everyone was completely mesmerized," says McMillian.

For Thomas, her favorite thing about the holiday season.

"That you get to open presents and that it's all about God."
