BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley County community gathered for its 24th annual candlelight service on Thursday remembering the lives of drunk driving victims.
The memorial and awareness event was held at Moncks Corner A.M.E. church on West Main St. Songs and prayers were lifted up for families who continue to grieve over the loss of their loved ones.
The Berkeley County Prevention Board has hosted these memorial services since 1989.
On Monday, the South Carolina attorney general teamed up with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) on the new initiative called "Smart Choice," making sure reliable and safe rides are always within reach.
