NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Fort Dorchester High School community is excited for Saturday's State Championship Game after a record breaking year for the football team.
The school has a lot of community cheerleaders including neighboring Chickfila on Dorchester Road.
"Every week more and more people come in for the games so building the excitement, moving up in the playoff rankings... it's been fun to be apart of," says Growth and Development Consultant at Chick-fil-A, John Ingham.
Junior Wide Receiver at FD, Tyler Cassidy, came in tonight for a pregame dinner. He was coming from a movie night with the rest of the football team.
"We've been working for it all year we got one game left we'll be heading out there to get the job done," says Cassidy.
Senior at FD, Tyler Coleman will be there too, it's something he couldn't miss.
"I was able to get off work I was happy I was cheering I was telling everybody yeah, I'm getting off work I get to see the game in Columbia," says Coleman.
The FD Football team is undefeated this season.
"We need all the support we can have, we're going to do this for them, hopefully we come out with a win," says Cassidy.
Many are planning to make the trip to Columbia to see the game.
"They've never had any type of record like this before you can feel it in the school it's very hype," says Coleman.
The Patriots will be playing against Spartanburg school, Dorman High.
"We're excited, Go Patriots," says Ingham.
