Suspects wanted in fatal shooting in N. Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - A North Charleston man is dead and authorities are searching for two suspects in the fatal shooting.

The Charleston County Coroner has identified him as 26-year-old Leonardo Stanfield.

Officers responded to the 4300 block of Leslie Street shortly before 1 a.m. in reference to a male victim being shot.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim deceased in the roadway.

According to a witness on scene, she and the victim reportedly walked to a nearby convenience store and were in the process of walking back to their residence on Nelson Street when two subjects appeared from the shadows and ordered them to get on the ground. According to the witness, before they could lay down the suspects began shooting at the victim.  The suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction.  

The suspects are described as two  males, both dressed in all black with masks or shirts wrapped around their faces, one approximately 5'10, the other approximately 6'.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information should contact NCPD or Crimestoppers.
