NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - North Charleston detectives are investigating a shooting they say may have started with a domestic argument.
Preliminary information about the incident, which took place in the 9000 block of Maple Grove Drive in the Wescott community shortly before 1 p.m. Friday, indicates an argument occurred between the female resident and her estranged husband, according to North Charleston Police spokesman Spencer Pryor.
It is believed the man produced a handgun and shot he female victim then shot himself, Pryor said.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene. The female victim was taken to an area hospital and was listed in critical condition late Friday.
This incident remains under investigation.
