CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Short sleeves, short pants, and jacketless evenings are all signs of summer.
But for the Lowcountry, it's our soon to be winter...for now at least; Christmas Day's forecast calls for highs in the lower 80s.
"We haven't even put up a Christmas tree because it's so warm, we'll just do it like a couple day before Christmas," Holle Knowles said.
Knowles and her son, Trystan, were out shopping for the day, and they say it just doesn't feel like the Christmas season.
"That fact that there's still lots of mosquitoes out during 'winter,' it's a little bit alarming," Trystan said.
And Monday was no exception.
People are asking where's winter?
"It's not winter," said Ki'Asheshia Bradford."I don't think it's winter."
Some say it isn't the first time they've known Charleston to be unseasonably warm.
"It reminds me of back in the 70s when I was growing up here in high school," Brian Benedict said.
While some shoppers are wishing for some cooler days others are happy with the way it is.
"Thanksgiving Day, it was awesome because you get to run around in shorts and t-shirts, throw the football in the yard," Hayden Grooms said."Hopefully it'll be the same for Christmas."
"It's great living here in Charleston. We enjoy the weather. We enjoy the people," Benedict said.
