HOLLYWOOD, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County deputies are investigating an early-morning shooting death that took place inside a home in Hollywood.
According to Charleston Sheriff's Maj. Eric Watson, deputies responded to a home in the 4700-block of Wilson Road shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday to investigate the shooting.
The husband of the victim told police he followed his wife, in separate vehicles, back to their residence after finding her at a bar in Hollywood. When he entered the residence, he said he found his wife on a bedroom floor with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The victim was transported to MUSC where she later died.
Watson says this is an ongoing death investigation by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office and the Charleston County Coroner's Office. Although there is no immediate evidence of foul play, Watson says, it has not yet been ruled out.
