WAXHAW, NC (WYFF) -

A young television reporter was killed in a car crash Wednesday night, according to WSOC.

North Carolina state troopers said Jordan Schuman, 22, drove through a stop sign in Waxhaw just after 7 p.m.  Two other vehicles crashed into Schuman’s car, troopers said.

WPDE confirmed that Schuman was a multimedia journalist at the Florence/Myrtle Beach station.

Troopers have not yet determined if weather was a factor in the crash.

Schuman’s position at WPDE was her first since she graduated from the University of Miami.  While at UM, Schuman reported and was a writer and co-anchor of the university’s evening news program. She also interned with CBS Entertainment, NBC News and CBS News.

She joined WPDE news team in March of 2015.
