NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston chapter of Black Lives Matter held a stand-in protest in North Charleston as part of a national protest of the Tamir Rice decision.

Organizers say the demonstration, outside the North Charleston Police Department, is meant to protest after Cleveland police officers were not charged for the deadly 2014 shooting death of 12-year-old Tamir Rice.

The boy was holding what turned out to be a pellet gun when was shot and killed by an officer.

Some protesters were carrying signs that read, "Black Lives Matter" as they chant "Justice for Tamir."
