Early morning accident in Berkeley County leaves one dead

Berkeley County officials are investigating a single car accident that has left one person dead.

On January 2, 2016 at 4:20 a.m. 25 year old Richard Steven Parish, Jr. of Moncks Corner was traveling east on Cooper Store Road near Queenie Road. His Toyota SUV ran off the right side of the roadway, struck several trees, and overturned several times. Parish was ejected from the vehicle.

He was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene

His death was ruled accidental and was investigated by the Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
