SULLIVAN'S ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Sullivan's Island is one of the happiest coastal towns in America according to Coastal Living magazine.
The magazine's February issue, on newsstands January 8, features its annual top ten list of America's Happiest Seaside Towns and Sullivan's Island made the cut. The ten beach towns are unranked and feature locations from across the country. The title of "Happiest Seaside Town" is left up to a vote. Readers can vote this month to determine the final rankings to be released April 5.
The magazine gives the following description of Sullivan's Island: "Perched at the mouth of the Charleston Harbor, this relaxed little community of only 1,875 has gorgeous homes and undeveloped beaches, and is only a few minutes' drive from the renowned arts, culture and restaurants of the city."
Coastal Living editors reviewed more than 300 of the top coastal destinations, including spots nominated over social media. Editors consider a wide range of criteria including the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, sunny days, air and beach quality, drivability and walkability, and the overall "coastal vibe."
