COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A Colleton County elementary school will remained closed the rest of the week over air quality concerns, school officials have confirmed.
Northside Elementary School was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday after mold spores were found at the school.
An air quality test showed an above normal level of airborne spores.
The discovery was made when teachers returned from Christmas break for a work day on Monday. Students were not scheduled to return from Christmas break until Tuesday.
Officials say the school is being sanitized in the meantime.
