SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Will the odds be in your favor? It's the biggest jackpot ever set by Powerball at $900 million dollars. The drawing for the winner is at 10:59 Saturday night.
"It's been pretty crazy. People that are not usual customers coming in buying like huge amounts of tickets," says Summerville Circle K employee, Candace Mauldin.
A Powerball ticket costs $2 and many locals are testing their luck in the lottery game.
"I never buy lottery tickets, but my wife insisted made me come down here," says Scott Campbell.
"They kept telling me the chances of you actually winning are like nothing, but you know might as well play once," says Andrew Nosotti.
While many were new to the game, others are regulars. Carl Holmes says in his nearly 15 years of playing he's won more than $22,000.
"I feel great, I feel that I'm going to win and I'm going to help family members and pay my 10 percent to the church," says Holmes.
Mauldin says some people who've purchased tickets have been buying big.
"There was a gentlemen that bought 250 quick picks, which is $500," says Mauldin.
One local says he's going a different route.
"Just one, it only takes one to win," says Daniel Pidkaminy,
Studies show you're more likely to get struck by lightening while drowning than winning the jackpot.
"There's a lady over at the grocery store, I talk to her all the time and I told her I'd remember her if I won," says Nosotti.
Just a few months ago a winning ticket for the Lucky for Life lottery was sold at the Circle K off Central Ave in Summerville.
"I heard this and I'm hoping to be the second person," says Holmes.
If you still want to buy your ticket you have until 10 p.m. on Saturday.
