CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Many schools in the Charleston County School District will soon have new start and dismissal times.
Twelve schools in Districts 4 and 10 will implement new bell schedules next week, the start of the second semester. More than 7,800 students will be affected.
Bus routes will also change for the affected schools.
The CCSD Board of Trustees voted to change the start time of these particular schools to eliminate very late afternoon dismissals for some middle schools.

For the first week of the changes, CCSD asks parents to have their children at their bus stop 10 minutes before the new assigned time.
Some schools in District 9 underwent similar changes at the beginning of the school year.
