Charleston Police arrest suspect in attempted armed robbery

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police have arrested a suspect for an attempted armed robbery that occurred January 11, 2016 near the intersection of Cool Blow Street and North Hanover Street downtown.

Anthony Cobbs, 17, of Norman Street, is charged with attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Cobbs was being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.

The incident occurred about 6:00 p.m. The victim was standing near the intersection of Cool Blow Street and North Hanover Street when he was approached by two males. One of the males pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded his wallet. The victim refused to give them his wallet and the suspects fled the scene.

Authorities are still investigating details on this case.
