Sumter Police need help finding missing mother

SUMTER, SC (WIS) - A young mother to two young children is missing and Sumter police officers are asking for the community's help in finding her.

Sumter officers say they realized 27-year-old Shardae Davis was missing after officers responded to a disturbance call from one of Davis' neighbors in the Ritz Mobile Home Park residence. Officers say when they arrived to Davis' residence on the 600 block of W. Liberty Street, they found her two children, a 2-year-old and a 5-week-old, unharmed and alone.

Acquaintances of Davis said that it would be highly unlikely for her to leave her children alone, according to officers.

Sumter Police say they are also searching for 34-year-old Herbert Butler. Officers say that he is wanted for questioning in connection with the disappearance of Davis. He also has a warrant against him for domestic violence, according to officers.

Anyone with any information on the disappearance of Shardae Davis or on the whereabouts of Herbert Butler is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
