Hundreds attend MLK Holiday Parade in downtown Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Hundreds of people attended the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. parade Monday in downtown Charleston. 

The MLK Holiday Parade began at Burke High School on President Street at 11 a.m.

The procession headed east on Fishburne, north on Ashley, east on Sumter, south on King, east on Calhoun and ended at Marion Square. 

Hundreds of people from area schools, churches, non-profit organizations and businesses participated, including Military Magnet Academy and the International Longshoremen's Union.
