Berkeley County EMS director resigns

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County EMS Director Steve Cotter resigned from his position Thursday afternoon.

County officials say Cotter had been the director for 18 months.

Officials did not comment on the reason for the resignation.

Before taking the EMS position in Berkeley County, Cotter was the head of EMS at Piedmont Hospital in Rock Hill.

According to officials, he has also directed EMS operations for Sedgwick County, Kansas and Laurens County, South Carolina and was a shift commander in Greenville County, South Carolina.
