CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A potential winter storm will spread moderate to heavy rain on the Lowcountry Friday with icy conditions farther north in North Carolina and heavy snow through the mid-Atlantic states.
Expect light to moderate showers this morning, followed by the threat for heavier rain and a few thunderstorms this afternoon. Temps today will reach the mid 50s. Rainfall totals could top one inch in many spots.
Friday night will be cloudy and cold with lows in the 30s.
Saturday will be a cold, cloudy and breezy day with highs only in the mid 40s.
Early in the morning, snow flurries or sleet could mix in briefly with any leftover light showers. This would be west of Charleston, closer to 7 a.m.
Nothing is expected to stick.
