Snow flurries hitting the Lowcountry

(WCSC) -

Well it's official, we have snow in South Carolina!

Here in the Lowcountry we have been getting reports, photos, and videos of snow flurries from viewers in Summerville, Beaufort, North Charleston, and right here at our studios in West Ashley.

Our weather team has been keeping track of this winter weather and says these light showers and flurries are expected to stick around for the morning across parts of the Lowcountry.

This afternoon and evening skies will be clearing, and it will be cold and breezy. We can expect low 40's for highs this afternoon and near 30 tonight.

Major snowfall is expected to continue for the northeast tonight through early Sunday, but for the moment this is all we should expect as far as snow in the Lowcountry.

We'll keep you updated online and on the air with the latest development in this wintry weather.
