WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Drivers in Williamsburg County who have had to go an hour out of the way to get around after heavy flooding in October may finally get the news they've been waiting for.
Flooding damaged two heavily traveled bridges.
Williamsburg County DOT official Richard Livingston said Monday construction on one of two bridges damaged by October flooding should begin by next week.
Contractors will start on the McCottry Bridge next week and should have it ready to be re-opened by June.
The smaller St. Mark Bridge is expected to be repaired and open to traffic sometime in April.
