CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The State Department of Transportation wants your feedback on a $480 million proposed upgrade to six miles of I-26.

The plan is to widen I-26 from six lanes to eight lanes from Montague Avenue in North Charleston to Rutledge Avenue in Charleston.

The project will include upgrades to the Dorchester Road interchange  and the bridge over Baker Hospital Boulevard.

It's estimated to cost more than $480 million.

It's expected the project will be recommended for inclusion in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.
