JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The 7th Annual Follywood Oyster Roast is raising funds for the Warrior Surf Foundation. It's a nonprofit organization helping vets with PTSD and physical injuries through surfing therapy. The event is Saturday, January 30 from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Brick House Kitchen in James Island.
Organizers say after the success of last year's event, they decide to make this year's oyster roast a fundraiser. The Warrior Surf Foundation was started by professional surfers and combat veterans in May of 2015.
The Brick House will be offering its full menu and the Charleston Caribbean Creole food truck will also be on site with its dessert truck too. Local bands will playing throughout the day and there will be nearly 20 art vendors at the event.
It's a family friendly environment and there will be activities for the kids including jump castles, carnival games and other activities. There's a $15 cover, but children 10 and younger are free.
List of performers include Josh Roberts & The Hinges, The Piedmont Boys, The Royal Tinfoil, Deadwin, and Don't Mess with The Tiger.
