COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Hillary Clinton's campaign has confirmed that Bill Clinton will visit Columbia Wednesday, including a speech at Allen University.
"WJC has accepted an invitation from the Democratic leaders of the General Assembly to speak on Wednesday in Columbia," said a spokesperson with the Clinton campaign. "He'll also attend a rally in Columbia."
Senator John Matthews, Assistant Democratic Leader and Minority Leader Todd Rutherford released the following statement regarding the former President's invitation:
"Following our conversation with Secretary Hillary Clinton last May, we're proud to announce that President Bill Clinton accepted our invitation to discuss a range of issues that we're focused on this session from investing in our schools and roads to gun violence. As someone who has visited South Carolina for decades, the President understands the complexity of many of these issues facing our communities."
Bill Clinton also will speak at a rally at Allen University Wednesday evening. Doors open at 4 p.m. with the event starting at 6 p.m.at the John Hurst Gymnasium, 1530 Harden Street. People planning to attend need to register here.
