NEW YORK (CBS) - CBS This Morning anchor Charlie Rose surprised his colleagues by taking on a wardrobe challenge Tuesday morning.
Rose appeared midway into the program wearing Versace pants reminiscent of eye-catching pants worn by Charlotte Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton.
While covering the team's arrival in San Francisco for Sunday's Super Bowl during Monday morning's broadcast, anchors noted Newton's zebra-striped pants embellished with gold accents.
The pants reportedly cost $800, leading co-anchor Gayle King to tell Rose she would pay the $800 if Rose would wear those pants.
Rose shook hands on the dare Monday and surprised King and Norah O'Donnell by walking into the studio wearing pants with a similar design during Tuesday's broadcast.
"Cam, I'm with you, man," Rose said.
When King mentioned the $800, Rose said it would be donated to their favorite charity. At the end of Tuesday's broadcast, Rose said the charity would be Duke University Medical Center.
The Panthers will face the Denver Broncos Sunday. The team is taking a break Tuesday before returning to practice for the big game on Wednesday.
