Charleston Police searching for person of interest in homicide

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The Charleston Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a person they believe has "intimate knowledge" of a homicide.

Authorities believe Joshua Grampus was present during the homicide that occurred on Feb. 4 on Hazelwood Drive. Police responded at 12:43 a.m. in reference to a shooting. They found a 21-year-old victim investigators say was fatally shot while trying to gain access to the apartment through a bedroom window.

Grampus does not have active warrants in reference to the homicide, police say. 

Grampus is 23 years old and is around six feet tall with black hair and brown eyes. 

Police are actively trying to locate and speak with him.
