MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - A 19-year-old Moncks Corner man was arrested Friday in connection with an early-morning armed robbery at a convenience store.

Deion Malik Watson was arrested in connection with the robbery at the Pantry BP Station on Highway 52, according to Moncks Corner Police Chief Rick Ollic.

Police say Watson robbed the store clerk while armed with a rifle at approximately 3:05 a.m. Friday. Forensic evidence from the scene led to Watson's arrest, Ollic said.

He was being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center pending a bond hearing Saturday, Ollic said.
