SCE&G: Restoring power after accident taking longer than anticipated

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Work to restore power to hundreds of people who woke up in the dark is taking longer than power crews expected.

As of 8:15 a.m., South Carolina Electric and Gas reported 373 without power, down from 414 reported at 6:50 a.m. The cause of the outage was listed as an accident on the utility's power outage map.

For the majority of customers, power was expected to be restored by 8:30 a.m., however the site states power was taking longer to restore than initially anticipated.

A smaller pocket of power customers were expected to be brought back online by 10:30 a.m., according to SCE&G's outage map.
