Police: Man wanted in Upstate killing may be in Goose Creek

Woodruff, SC (WCSC) -

Officers in the Upstate say a man suspected in a shooting could be in the Goose Creek area.

According to an arrest Warrant, Adriel Garnett is wanted for murder.

Police in Woodruff say they went to the 400 block of Sharp Street at 4 a.m. Saturday to find Cecil Gilliam, 40, shot dead.

“During the course of the investigation it was established that Mr. Gilliam had been in an argument with the suspect, Mr. Adriel N. Garnett, and that Mr. Garnett had shot Mr. Gilliam,” a statement from the Woodruff Police Department reads. “A warrant for Mr. Garnett has been issued for murder and he has yet to be located.”

Police believe Garnett may be attempting to flee to the Columbia or Goose Creek areas. His last known address is in Goose Creek.

Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
