Police searching for man accused of stealing vehicle, firearm

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted in connection with the theft of a vehicle and the theft of a firearm in two separate incidents over the weekend.

The vehicle theft occurred on Harbortowne Road between 2:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Sunday, according to Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis.

Police say the vehicle was later found at about 11 a.m. on Five Oaks Drive.

Police are also investigating the theft of a pistol from an SUV on Harbor Woods Circle between 8 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Francis said investigators believe the same person stole the vehicle and the firearm.
