BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Nearly a year after being shot last year, a Berkeley County deputy received the Blue and Gold Wounded in Service Award on Thursday.
Lt. Will Rogers was honored by his peers during a banquet held at the Exchange Club in downtown Charleston.
"Lt. Rogers has made significant improvements since the night he was shot, but still has a long road to recovery," BCSO officials said."It is truly a miracle to see how far he has come. Sheriff Lewis wanted to thank the members of the Exchange Club of Charleston for taking the time to honor Lt. Rogers and for their gracious hospitality."
