CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Some downtown Charleston residents will be without water Tuesday and Wednesday as a contractor replaces some water main valves.
Charleston Water System officials say the outage is scheduled between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on both days.
Tuesday's outage will impact 120 customers living on Rutledge Avenue between Spring and Line streets, Humphrey Court, Porter's Court, and Sires Street from Rose to Bogard.
Wednesday's outage will affect 100 customers on Rose Lane and Ashe Street between Spring and Line.
"A contractor will be replacing water main valves as part of our Downtown Water Main Rehab Project," CWS officials say."Affected customers are being notified with door hangers and phone calls."
According to CWS officials, crews will work to restore service as quickly as possible with updates to be posted on Twitter (@ChasWaterSystem) and Facebook.
"After service is restored, some customers may experience discolored water. Let a cold water faucet run until the water is clear."
