MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - The six remaining Republican presidential candidates will take the stage in Greenville tonight for the CBS News Republican Debate. The Charleston County Republican Party is hosting a watch party at Cinebarre in Mt. Pleasant.
It's the last Republican debate before the South Carolina Republican primary next weekend.
"We've done this for every presidential Republican debate for the last six months, they're a lot of fun, we invite folks from all over the community," says an Executive Committeeman with the Charleston County Republicans, Joe Semsar.
Organizers say there is going to be a range of people at this watch party including high school and college students in addition to the Charleston County Republicans. Nearly 150 are expected to show up to watch this debate on the big screen
Light appetizers will be provided and you can order and purchase food from the Cinebarre menu.
"At the end of the event we are going to do a straw poll just to get a good feeling as to which way folks are leaning," he said. "Those are always fun and interesting and insightful as well."
This watch party is open to the public and organizers say there will be overflow space in the lobby of Cinnabarre if the viewing room becomes full. People plan to start arriving around 8 p.m.
