CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police arrested an 18-year-old North Charleston man in connection with a Valentine's Day armed robbery, but said they are still searching for two others.
Scotty Orlando Simmons is charged with three counts of armed robbery, three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and entering a house or vessel without breaking with the intent to steal, according to Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis.
One of the victims told police he was walking on Hanover Street at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday to meet with two of his friends in an apartment in the 400 block of Meeting Street. While on Hanover Street, the victim said he was approached by three men who asked what he was doing; he told them he was on his way to meet two friends and the three men walked with him.
When he arrived at the apartment, the three robbers entered the apartment and robbed the man they followed and the two friends, taking money and property, Francis said.
Simmons was being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
