A 34-year-old man died when a car he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree Sunday afternoon.
Daniel Jenkins was killed in the crash on Brownswood Road, according to Charleston County Deputy Coroner Brittney Martin. Jenkins died of blunt force trauma, Martin said.
According to Police a 2000 Honda was traveling on Brownswood Road near Island Estates Drive when it ran off the right side of the road.
Jenkins over-corrected and crossed both lanes, before hitting a ditch flipping the car and striking a tree, police said.
Jenkins was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators.
