Williamsburg Co. schools on early release on Wednesday due to weather threat

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - District officials say Williamsburg County schools are on early release on Wednesday due to a severe weather threat.

"This is to notify you that Wednesday, February 24, 2016, will be an early release day, for students and staff due to a severe weather advisory from the Williamsburg County Emergency Management System. Winds are expected to be as high as 70 miles per hour in the mid-afternoon, with chances of hail and/or tornadoes. Students will be released on the early dismissal schedule for schools, ensuring that all students have been released by 12:00 noon," WCSO officials announced Tuesday night.
